Parker Quartet
July 29, 30, 31

Winners of the 2010 Grammy for Best Chamber Music Performance. In 2005 the Parker Quartet sparked international acclaim by winning the Concert Artists Guild Competition as well as the Grand Prix and Mozart Prize at the 2005 Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition in France. Most recently, the Quartet was awarded the prestigious 2009-2011 Cleveland Quartet Award given biennially by Chamber Music America, which honors and promotes a rising young string quartet whose artistry, demonstrating that it is in the process of establishing a major career. Currently, The Parker Quartet is in its second season as Quartet-in-Residence with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. The Parker Quartet will provide four days of master classes and coaching to the Festival’s International Advanced Student Music and Composition Program.

Miro Quartet
August 4, 5, 6, 7

Founded in 1995, the Miro Quartet performs regularly in the world’s greatest concert halls. They are the first chamber ensemble ever to be awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant. They are also winners of the Fishoff, Banff and Coleman competitions, as well as the prestigious Naumburg Chamber Music Award and the Cleveland Quartet Award. They collaborate with such artists as Leif Ove Andsness, Joshua Bell, Midori and Pinchas Zukerman. They are Quartet-in-Residence at the Sarah and Ernst Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin. The Miro Quartet will provide five days of master classes and coaching to the Festival’s International Advanced Student Music and Composition Program.

Henschel Quartet -
August 11, 12, 13

Since 1994 this acclaimed German string quartet has had an impressive international career. In 1995 they won awards at Evian, Salzburg and Banf. In 1996 they won the first prize and gold medal at the coveted Osaka International String Competition. The Henschel Quartet has recently played its third BBC Proms appearance, the Premiere of a newly discovered string quintet by Max Bruch at the Wigmore Hall London, and appeared at Brussels Bozar as “Cultural Ambassadors” for Germany. Amongst those who have performed with the Henschel Quartet are members of the Amadeus Quartet, Sharon Kam, Till Fellner, Anna Gourari, Julie Kaufmann, Christian Elsner and Magdalena Kozena. The Henschel Quartet will provide four days of master classes/coachings to the Festival’s International Advanced Student Music and Composition Program.

Student ensembles from the Festival’s International Advanced Student Music and Composition Program present concerts daily in public locations including the Allende Museum, Portales, Bellas Artes, Tourism Office and Fábrica La Aurora.
